Welcome to the official website of the Incomparable Iota Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated. Chartered in 1935, Iota Sigma is leading the way in Greater Service for Greater Progress in the Metro Richmond, Virginia area.
On November 12, 1922 Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority was founded on the campus of Butler University, Indianapolis, IN., by seven brave, dynamic, innovative, and creative founders who were inspired to make a difference in the lives of others. In our vast International community, the women of Sigma Gamma Rho are committed to effecting change, improving the lives of young people, elevating the stature of women, and promoting economic security and healthy living as we provide “Greater Service, Greater Progress”.
Our membership is composed of a dynamic group of collegiate and professional women who represent the fields of education, medicine, law, business, science, politics, entertainment, public administration, communications, and social services. Our members have received recognition both locally and internationally because of their commitment to excellence in all endeavors.
